I'm looking for DIY livery in or around the Ellesmere area. Can anyone reccomend any, and reccomed farriers, vets, feed merchants etc
It is for one 14hh beautifully mannered connemara. I've kept my ponies at home for the last 13 years so not sure how i will cope with a yard (pony will be fine!) so small yards would be better.
This is the yard requirements:
Non negotiable (i have to have them)
24 hour turnout in the summer and at least 8 hours every day in the winter (pony is used to living out 24/7/365). This is due to vetenary resons not just because I like my pony turned out.
Well fenced fields (he does not respect electric fencing and can happily walk through it, is fine with normal wire or post and rail).
I would like a stable or access to one as it makes shows so much easier.
The ability to bed my pony of shavings or hemp as he is allergic to straw and cannot be bedded on it or have any access to it.
I would realy like and will be looking for perticularly
I want lots of good hacking, I dont mind road work provided it isnt the A5!!
a School of some sort preferably with a half decent surface on it (ie useable most of the year, not flooded etc)
Somewhere to park the lorry (even if i have to pay extra)
Ability to use a hose when washing ponies (some yards round here wont let you use a hose).
The ability to put Pony on full livery when my job demands it (normaly be DIY or part livery but will occassionaly have to travel so will require full livery).
Would be a lovely luxury, not nessecary for a yard to have but would be nice;
an indoor,
a wash bay,
Preferably with showing people and not too many kids.
Secure locked and alarmed tack room (if not I will just take my tack home with me).
Separate mare and gelding grazing with little groups not one big one as the pony has a tendon injury and I dont want him damaging it again by galloping round the field after the girls.
