please does any one have a link to one or both of the above.perhaps a form with all the basics on that i can tweake to suit?
also, what kind of deposit/rent in advance is it fair to expect.
and finally,if some one rides in my fields without a hat, should i mention it?(no,i dont want to start the hat debate)
thanks.

There is a sample contract on the horsedata website and I think one month in advance is the norm to charge as a deposit.

I would certainly make it very clear to all liveries (put it in your contract) that they must ride with a hat at all times.

On my contract it states anyone on or handling a horse must wear a hat, wear hi-viz on roads etc as my YO had real problems when she first started with people not paying attention to the rules etc and they tried to sue her. Make sure everything is covered!!
Also, an ex-livery is trying to wriggle out of paying their bill because when they had an accident on the road she had to go to hospital and someone brought the horse back. As he was going mental I stuffed him in his stable until he calmed down (he's a 17.1 TB) and it was safe for me to go in and get his tack off. YO came over and looked after the horse, called vet to see to his injuries etc. Now the owner is saying she can't be billed for this and is refusing to pay for YO time and vet but in the contract it clearly states that in the event of an accident if the owner can't be contacted then YO will call the vet and follow their intructions, which is good as poor horse went down with colic at 3am.

thanks.
there is loads to think of.
will look at horsedata 1st.
zalacca, would be interested to see what happens.
