Hi all

I am looking for DIY livery in or near Swindon - ideally no more than 30 minutes away. I have had a little look but it seems that the closest I can find from livery yards/riding schools that offer livery in the area is assisted DIY livery starting at £70 per week which is way too pricey for me.

I'm ideally looking at spending no more than £40 per week max (but ideally around the £20 mark) for a stable for a 15.2-16hh horse (currently looking - will be my second horse although my first is retired in Bradford on Avon), year round turnout, a field or arena to ride in and off road hacking nearby. Not worried about any extra facilities although a set of jumps/permission to build some would be nice! Happy to consider private yards and commercial livery - less keen on riding schools as they seem to charge more, lack of access to facilities due to lessons and have stricter routines/opening times so more difficult to enjoy your horse.

Thank you!

You don't say whether or not you are looking north or south Swindon so in no particular order: Filo Horses, Fern Farm Livery, The Gallops, Harris Croft, Field farm Stud, South Farm livery, rein and shine. I think there is one on Day House lane, and there are a few out towards Uffington and Aldbourne but that might be too far away. Mel Norris offers something out towards Blunsdon I think, Claire Chambers has a place in Wootton Bassett and there are a few others.

If you google the names above they should come up with details. The other place to ask is on the Wiltshire Horse FB page or there is a Swindon specific one or ring some of the tack shops to see if they know of anywhere.

Put it this way, for what you are looking for you shouldn't struggle to find somewhere.
