I am new to North Beds (Thurleigh) and I have a retired gelding who is still at our previous yard but I have to move him to a new yard by the New Year because the grazing won't support him and his field mates through the winter. Ideally I'd like somewhere he can live out but have access to a stable (but stable not essential). Due to the fact he is retired I don't need facilities such as a menage. He is a good boy and has always mixed well with any horses he has been out with. Any suggestions of where to start will be gratefully received!!??

You could try Top End Stores at Little Staughton or Sharnbrook Animal Feeds.
Even putting an ad in village shops around here can strike lucky.
Beds on Sunday might be worth a wanted ad.
Biggleswade Saddlery website might be worth a look. Generally the ads on there are for the other side of Bedford, but there is the odd one.
Keysoe do livery but probably wouldn't suit you - might be worth putting an ad up there as lots of people pass through & someone might have a space for a companion type.
I found my current yard when my husband spotted a sign up by the roadside.
There are lots of horses around Thurleigh so maybe you could just call in at yards & ask.

Hi there, not sure if you are still looking for yards but my friend and I have space available at our yard in Sharnbrook?

Message me if you are interested!

Thanks

Caroline
