How much would you pay for DIY livery -

1. Daily turnout stable, hay all yr, use of outdoor school, excellent hacking. (assisted available)
or
2. Daily Turnout, no hay, use of outdoor school, excellent hacking, (assisted available)
or
3. 24hr turnout summer but restricted in winter (from 7-2 but in all day if wet) hay supplied during winter. Use of outdoor and indoor school (no assisted available)

I'm currently paying £170 per month for no. 3

Just interested to know......

Depends on the area... I couldn't really say..

Currently pay £25 a week for big indoor school, straw bedding included in the livery, good hacking nice people.. hay available to be bought off of owners but you don't have to. 24hr turnout in summer if you want, in before dark in winter. Feed in the mornings/evenings for free, turnout for a quid, if you want your horse done for the day its £6. We love it !

I don't have any of those but £90 a month for 24-7 turn out March - November! Stable at night, but no time restrictions just have to be in November - Feb. Price doesn't include hay but I buy from the farm! £30 for a round bale of hay! £15 for a large bale of straw! no schooling facilities, but I can use a 1 acre field for schooling etc! I'm the only livery there too!

The prices for all of these suggestions can vary tremendously depending on which part of the country you are in.

Absolutely, and also it will vary on how accessible and convenient to 'civilisation' the yard is. If its an hour's drive from any houses it will be less attractive to DIY customers than one five minutes away.

Bar the hay (which I have to buy separately) I'm paying £110 PCM for option 1.

I get: herd turn all year around (although not 24/7 sadly & limited to 9/10 hours in the winter), direct access to off-road hacking (although, we pay a yearly fee for this - it works out less than £1 a week), an outdoor sand school, stable, own tack/equipment storage area & run by YM who offers assistance.

Where i will be moving too i will have individual turn out, a stable, use of a large out door school and storage area for my things for £140 a month. I can keep him out 24/7 if i please. this is in SE. Apparently it has only just gone up from £120 a month.

£40 p/w for DIY including stable, storage area, hay, straw, individual turnout that I can manage however I like. Assistance if required. Outdoor school with lights, and excellent off road hacking. Wiltshire.

£25 per week for stable, turnout (not enough turnout in winter though) and use of outdoor school - hacking all on quiet lanes. No hay or straw included. In Cumbria

I pay £130 pm for stable, individual turnout to do as I please with my 1.5 acres (I have to rotate my grazing and decide when he should be in or out), an all weather school with no lights and miles of off road hacking that I pay a separate fee for of £13.90 a month. No assistance is available. But can usually ask one of the teenagers to sort him if im desperate for some pocket money!

Would love somewhere that did asissted DIY as thats where I struggle working odd shifts all the time!

I currently pay £28 per week for complete diy (ie field and stable) we have a floodlit outdoor school and reasonable hacking x

£28 a day!!! plus VAT at a decent yard in Herts. Do not move south anyone. Crazy rates. As for half/full livery, looking at £700, to even £1,200 a month. Presumably everyone round here is either an investment banker or married to a premier league football player.

What a hugh difference between these all, madmav I am so glad we are Up North.

Currently paying £30 pw, complete DIY, with outdoor flood lit school, currently between 3 (ours) and 8 horses (others don't always turn out or will keep in over night) roaming about 15 acres 24/7, but will bring in over night in winter.

Can pay extra for breakfast to be done, buy hay and straw of YO and if you are away or need help there are enough of us to swap jobs do favours or you can pay one of the very competent teenagers to do stuff for you.

North Yorkshire.

£50 a week which includes:
14x14 stable
All year turnout, 24/7 if wanted
Outdoor floodlight school always available
Hay and straw and horse and pony nuts included
Miles of off road hacking
Grass jumping paddock
XC field with jumps
Assisted if wanted (t/o or b/i is a £1)
Wash box and solarium
24 hr supervision

It's a really quiet yard with a brilliant YM.

Oh forgot some things
I think we are getting good deal, trailer storage, reasonable hacking, excellent instructor comes to give lessons, great fellow liveries - lots of knowledge, but it does get a bit soap opera at time due to the differing personalities

I'm about to move to yard that's £65 per month per horse. That's 24/7 turnout with use of stable, and can buy hay off the owner or buy my own but his hay is nice and cheap and already there. No school but good hacking and as it's just down the road from me I can walk there and save fuel costs. I don't think there's another yard around that does livery for less than £20 a week though, going rate seems to be £25-£30

I pay £14.50 a week per horse for DIY which inclu own field, stable with window and rubber matting, walker, gallops and round pen and jumps in field. Hacking isn't great as its mainly lanes but its a quiet area. Devon this is. There's only 4 of us there so we back each other up if somebody is ill etc. most yards in our area are £20 a week with lovely facility's but there's always rules and I love that on our yard there isn't any rules and no yo as such, never see the owners they leave us to it totally.

My yard is similar to no 3. Out 24/7 in the summer, daily turnout in winter, hay and bedding available to buy onsite, use of outdoor school and indoor school available for hire. Assisted also available. I pay £135 a month and I'm in Kent.

£160 per month.
Big American barn stables
Flood lit school
Morning feed and turnout included
Off road hacking
UK chasers xc course
Straw £1.50 a bale.
Clean, well maintained yard.
South Lincolnshire

I currently pay £25 a week for individual turn out 24/7 for mine with as much hay as I need, I have use of a large outdoor school and jumps, hacking on site around the 82 acre x country course and not bad hacking in surrounding area, owner lives on, very secure tack room and storage space and lovely, lovely people. If I want to bring him in you pay per week for stable, there are outdoor and American barn style stables, all really big and you pay £45 as you go but have to provide bedding of either paper or shavings.

£130/month for stable, 24/7 turnout in summer (still on 24/7 atm, apparently YO tries to keep us out til boxing day), reasonable hacking and use of outdoor arena. In Sheffield.
