Hi, was wondering how much people pay for services done by their YO/YM at their DIY yards. Ours seem to have gone up a lot this year but was wondering if it is in line with other yards.

  • Bringing horse in (no rug changes/feeding)
  • Taking rug off in field
  • Changing rug in field/stable
  • Mucking out stable
  • Turning out of horse (no rug changes)

Thanks!!! :D

These is what I used to pay when I was on livery:

[*]Bringing horse in (no rug changes/feeding) £2.50
[*]Taking rug off in field £1.00
[*]Changing rug in field/stable £1.00
[*]Mucking out stable £6.00
[*]Turning out of horse (no rug changes) £2.50

The minimum our yard do is assisted DIY so most of that is done as part of the service. Mucking out though is £8.50 (gone up a pound this year!) but that includes relaying bed, hay, water, turnout, bring in, rug changes, feet picked and feeding so basically full livery for the day

  • Turnout or Bring in (incl rug changes/feeding/hose muddy legs off) - £1.20 during the week, £1.70 at weekend
  • Taking rug off in field - not sure we even get charged
  • Changing rug in field/stable - not sure we even get charged
  • Feed when out 24/7 - same as turnout cost
  • Full service - £5.00 during week, £7 at weekend

I am obviously too nice to my liveries!!

I charge:

£1 t/o
£1 b/i
£1 rug change
£3.50 muck out

but my liveries are all lovely and help me with my horses when I need it, which to me is invaluable.
