does anyone know of any yards in or near oxenhope that have room for a 16.2 gelding? and an idea of facilities and price the yard offers? thanks!

There is a super yard called Ogden Equestrian - on the Halifax - Keighley Road. Great facilities, excellent standard of care - flood lit arena, heated horse wash, solarium, on site tack shop - really friendly staff - I have had two horses there for 4 years, I can highly reccomend the yard. Best yard in the area.

Hey ye it's a lovely yard there, just abit pricey I think and would prefer something closer to oxenhope, thank you though

I always find you get what you pay for - the standard of care and the facilities are well worth the money - I have been on other yards in the area over several years and I have to say my horses have never been so settled and content as at Ogden - the staff are very knowledgeable and unlike other yards I have been on they show a genuine interest in the horses in their care.
I travel several miles to Ogden, in fact I can see two quite large livery yards from where I live but Ogden offers better value for money - I don't think you can cut corners with horse care and they certainly don't - just my humble opion!

Yes but the road from Oxenhope to Ogden at Halifax is not one I would want to have to travel if I had a horse on DIY. I once drove over there in the snow, and it was in a Defender, its not an experience I would want to repeat. If we are getting the snow again I would agree with sticking nearer to home, however good the facilities are.
Sorry I cant help with yards, I'm not near enough.

Yes I agree it's horrendous round there in the winter and would prefer something I could walk to if need be x

If you want DIY then I can undestand you would want to be nearer home - mine are on full livery Monday to Friday and I do them my self weekends. The good thing about Ogden is that as it is on the main route from Halifax to Keighley the road is allways kept clear - even in the heavy snow the last two winters access has not been a problem. Some of the more out of the way yards would have been alsmost impossible to get to by car.
