Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone could help me.

I currently keep my horse near chippenham, but I am moving house to Wootton Bassett and I would like to move the horse too so.....

Does anyone know any nice yards about 15/20 minutes from wootton bassett?

We would need all year turnout, and would like access to some offroad hacking, and a school. She would also need to be allowed to have hay (I know some yards only allow haylage)
It is for a mare, individual turnout would be prefered although open to herd turnout too.

I know of Harris Croft, and Weir Farm in Broad Hinton, but was wondering if anyone else could help with any other yards around there please?

PM me if you would prefer.

I know a couple of people who keep horses are Weir Farm, seems a nice place.

Rabson Manor (just up the road from there) offer livery but not sure on price or content.

There's a place at Flaxlands but I can't remember the name, there's also a place on the Brinkworth Road that has a horse walker you can see from the road but can't think of the name

Sunday's Hill Farm at Brinkworth is very nice, but am not sure about the winter turn out arrangements. There are loads of yards around Brinkworth, Broad Hinton, Broad Town kind of area but I don't know any of the people sorry...

Try going to Old Dairy Saddlery in Tockenham and looking at their advertising board, and also Toomer's in Lydiard and Elm Grove at Purton. I think Elm Grove has a livery yard of some kind attached to it in fact.

Good luck!

Definitely worth giving Elmgrove a ring - their livery yard is outside Purton though so MAY be further than you want to travel. There's a yard at Ballards Ash which I've been racking my brain to try and find for you but can't at the mo.
There's also Chaddington (Great Chaddington?) stables and as Skint1 said loads out Broad Town way, and towards Lyneham. Might be worth asking Binky01 as I think she's that way??

Pop into Old Dairy Saddlery and ask the lovely girls in there? there is a yard in Bushton but not sure of name?? (sorry, pretty useless really!)
Might your farrier know of anything suitable? or are you expecting to have to change?

Good luck and welcome to our end of Wilts!

Hi,

I have a yard near Marlborough, which is about 30 mins from you. Stabled at night, out during the day in winter, do what you want in summer. I have a school, off road hacking and ample grazing. The horses tend to be in small groups or indidual, although this is a small yard so not many horses. I do keep a tight ship tho with regards to the welfare of the horses. They are all fed at the same time in the mornings, the fields have to be poo picked and the horses have to be either seen to by their owners or I will bring in, put out for a small charge.

If you are interested my number is 07795183034

Thanks

Sarah Francis
