Hello. I will shortly be looking for a DIY space for a weaned warmblood foal in the Reading area can anyone suggest a yard ? I would need a little assistance bringing in during the day, a night check and help at weekends. I'd like to keep the cost down if possible. A school would be helpful but being able to use it without fighting other liveries would be nice :)
Any help appreciated.
Don

Try Little Johns Farm on Little johns lane, (where the festival is ) They are a very friendly yard with 2 outdoor schools, indoor school and lunge ring. They always have fab grazing and also offer full and part DIY. If you need a number, let me know and I will find you one

Great thanks.. I cant find any reference on the internet to them bar the festival and the fire. Maybe you could PM me the number... do you keep a horse there?

My mum and I used to for years and years and years (25years) and we still have friends and family down there. Will get a number for you and pm you

Thanks Ive emailed Tidmarsh..
I popped down to St Johns Farm but they are full and wouldnt take a young horse anyway! they were literally surrounded by the music festival being set up. Shame it would have been handy for me.
thanks for the suggestions.

It may be a bit far but there is a yard just up the road run by a couple called Tracey and David. They breed warmbloods and have a lot of youngstock (and a stallion). They take a few liveries - my friend keeps her daughters horse there. It is just south of Mortimer - Brocaslands Farm in Pitfield Lane. The yard is run separately from the farm. They also instruct and have a school, and I believe a round pen. Just thought it may be a good place for a youngster as that's what they have.
