DIY rug proofer? Anyone used Storm re-proofer?

I normally use the Nixwax wash in product but wondered if there are any alternatives. It's to proof my Amigo XL lightweight and medium weight rugs.

If you're having to re-proof at all, you've lost the race! All bar one of the rugs I've bought in the last ten years (about 15) have remained waterproof, under the worst of conditions. The one that *did* let water continued to do so after re-proofing.

*Don't* wash/scrub or do anything other than clean off the mud with a dry brush, and, unless you've got a bad buy, the proofing should outlive the fabrics. If it leaks, give up and demote it to a frost cover/stable rug!
