At the moment my horse is on part livery at a lovely yard....I pay £70 per week which includes stable, ind turn out, hay and straw, 4 services a week (turn out of what ever!!) and use of all the facilities (indoor school, outdoor school, farm tracks to hack around and jump paddock!) they also offer DIY for £30 pw or £38 with some services....as (like so many others) my hours at work have been cut a little, I am trying to work out whether, if I go DIY, it will make much difference once I've forked out for hay and bedding!! Las time I had a horse on DIY was years ago and hay was alot cheaper and easier to come by!! Any advice????

If you are on diy livery will u need to go up twice daily? As obviously petrol costs need to be taken into consideration. Can u turn out 24/7 in summer? Will reduce hay/bedding costs. Is feed included in your part livery? My DIY livery is £25/pw but we don't have a school.

Hmmm, I worked out that on part livery, I was paying for DIY plus services, hay, bedding, turn out and bring in, which ended up being more expensive than full livery, so on full livery I pay less and they muck out too! Brilliant, for a while, now the days are longer I've gone back to DIY as I don't like not looking after my own horse, so there's more to it than money...
