Love DIY, been on both but decided im too controlling over my horse (relaxed in every other way) so decided DIY was the way to go.

Pros - you have complete control, you can source your own hay/haylage/straw/shavings, you can feed your horse exactly what you want with no cost restrictions, you are more free to do what you want with your time. It is cheaper initally so long as you do it all yourself/work out time with friend on yard to help each other out. Generally DIY isnt too bitchy :).

Cons - buying in all your own bedding and feed etc can be quite costly if not managed and sourced well, saying that if the DIY yard has good contacts/suppliers anyway it is cheaper (like ours does). Every little extra costs a LOT compared to Full if you dont have someone to help or swap jobs with - freelance grooms are expensive and even if the yard offer services the costs soon add up! You have to clean your own tack, horse stable etc :p...... hehe

Hope your decision isnt too hard to make! :)
