Just passing through...
So, rode the ginger dingbat last Thursday. Almost came off as when I asked for a downward transition from the canter, her head came up and to the side and pulled me all over the shop. Lost both stirrups. Hung on somehow! Daughter1 tried and she was better (D1 has a better seat than me now - she rides every day so should have lol), but still not one hundred percent.
Rode Dizz yesterday, and again, the argument with the head! Fine so long as no contact taken up, but as soon as there was, or a downward transition (from trot to walk), the head was off again. There was a real 'discussion' when asked to work properly, but when on a loose rein she was fine even at trot, though ran on a bit.
The general concensus was that she is just being an argumentative mare with attitude, but it bothers me that it's only when downward transition and when a contact is taken up.
So:
Back man says it might be a twinge in her neck. He's coming sometime in the next three days (thank you Barry!);
Saddler had told me that the saddle would need some more flocking in the front. She thinks that the points of the tree might be digging into/behind her shoulders, so she's over as soon as she can (thank you Laura!);
I'm waiting to hear when the dentist can come check.
Good job I wasn't planning on going shopping any time soon lol.
