Puncture wounds, grazes, long (but thankfully not deep) scratches. Front of and inside both hind legs, a few on the fetlocks/pasterns.

Hosed to try and get the swelling down. Vet out. Injected antibiotics and painkillers.

Dizz could hardly walk to the stable after the hosing :(. So down and miserable :(

Turned out the next evening.

Bute and antibs twice a day. Hosing/washing down and Flamozine every evening.

We thought at first that it was barbed wire; that maybe the Dizz had tried to jump some, but forgotten her backend! However the vet thinks it was bramble/hedge. There was swelling around the puncture wounds, which she says is a common reaction to brambles.

Today much improved. All bar two have scabbed over. The swelling has just about gone :D

Vet said two weeks off, but it looks like it might be sooner :D I'm bobered, having done something to my left knee (doing Zumba), then trying to run in a rather wonky fashion across a field bobbered the Achilles on the other leg. I'm bi-laterally lame . Anyhoo, the Dizz will come back into work when she's ready.

She doesnt do things half heartedly does she?

Every thing crossed for her making a quick recovery and not forgetting how many legs she has in the future.

Aye. I think she heard me say she was ccoming back into work this week!:rolleyes:

The annoying thing is that she's looking in the best condition ever! Even the vet commented how well, battered bits apart, she is

Blinking horses.

Poor Dizzy- are you sure she's not a TB, because she does a brilliant line in scaring you witless with her self-harming shenanigans!

^^^ this :D

Vibes to the Dizzy One and to you too:) Hope it looks worse than it actually was.

Aye, the Dizz is getting a bit of reputation...

She's just had two months off to try and get some weight on her greyhoundesque bod . Ah well. At least that bit worked :D :D

*wanders off to look up the Dizz's breeding, paying particular attention to the level of TB-ness in her*

Ta :D. Luckily no joints were affected :D. She's not being daft on her pins either (no more than usual anyway...), realising that she can't run with the others. Thankfully they're staying close to her so she's not on her own :D

Ouch, poor Dizzy, obviously enjoys being a lady of leisure. :D

A zumba injury, I think that might require some wine, or at least a giant Pimms. :D

Hope you and the Dizzy one feel better soon. xx

i'd have been more worried about the fact your horse has sprung a water leak!!!;) looks similar but not as deep as some wounds a friends horse acquired, but that was going through barb wire:rolleyes: unluckily for her one is on the inside of the hock joint and is proving to be a booger to sort:(
I don't talk about riding my horses within earshot of them anymore, seems to be a sure fire way of ensuring lameness!!

Thankies folks :) She's a daft bobbo!

I don't drink, but am seriously considering taking it up!

Ouch for friend's horse. Hope it heals soon.

Dizz is looking better again this evening. She's such a good horse. The vet was practically underneath her, checking her all over, and the Dizz didn't so much as raise a hoof. I love that lass :D

Can you not put earplugs in her ears, when you mention the word WORK, and you own horses and don't drink,as most of our horses send us drinking as in large vet bills, injuries, huge feedbills etc:-:D:D:D:D:D

Make sure Dizzy leads you out in hand for some grazing ;) :D

Poor girl :( Hope you back out and about together soon :)
