Hello all I am new to the horse and hound forum
but i am in need of some good advise peep : )

i brought a horse two years ago and recently found out that its failed the dna test. So isnt by who i was told it was by plus who it says on the passport.

I told the orginal owner of this and after many f ing and calling me all names under the sun. He told me he would have the horse back and give me my money back minus £50. This i was willing t accept. He took my address and bank account details and said he would pay. i havent heard anything since. So

Have you any ideas what i can do? especially to stop this happening to anyone else who buys from this seller in the future.

Have you still got the horse and the passport? If so the passport needs to be returned to the Passport Issuing Organisation and you need to either get a new passport (there are many PIO's that will issue Identity passports which just contain a silhouette, microchip details and medical pages), or if you believe the horse does have one somewhere else then get a replacement one as it is against regulation to have more than one passport for a horse..

In regards to the money, I would suggest that you don't return the horse until you have the money and if it proves difficult could you not just sell the horse on with a passport with no breeding detail in it?
