Do any 3.5t Self Drive companies rent to 21 year olds?

Am just looking at ideas considering I have no transport and its getting annoying!

I read up in theory when I turn 21 (in december) paying an excess I probably could rent a box of this size?

Is this actually the case, or although possible in theory companies are unlikely to let me!

There's only one company near me and I know you have to be 25 yrs old, have had no claims/points in last 5 years before they'll even consider you to hire their van.

I would say it is very unlikely due to insurance purposes. It's like hiring a car - everywhere I've been, you have got to be at least 25 yrs old to hire a car.

Yeah, as above.
Although some companies dont bother checking, a few years ago I hired a trailer and had a friend tow it as they had a 4x4 capable and they had passed their test only the year before (2008) and didnt have the trailer towing section on their license and they let us take it no problem, even after looking at the license, we had no idea you couldn't legally tow if you passed your driving test after 1997 at the time.

Infuriating really, as if you had a spare few grand lurking around and bought one of the things, you'd get insured fairly easily.
Try and hire one and its another story, the company near me doesn't hire to anyone less than 25, which as someone else said, is much like car hire I suppose. Hope you find success with it though, currently also bored of asking for lifts, and feeling a bit bad! I don't really know how it works, but maybe in the same way with car hire you could get someone older to hire it, then be an additional driver? I don't know if that's possible as I assume you'd just be borrowing it for a weekend at the most.
