Do geldings need to be DNA tested for late reg with WPCS

Hi I'm finding applying for a WPCS passport quite confusing, hoping someone could clear things up for me.

Having been given a seven year old welsh pony whose been in a field for years not doing very much we've discovered his owner never got round to getting him a passport.
We've contacted his breeders and together are trying to get him a nice welsh passport with his breeding on. Does anyone know whether as a late registration he would need to be DNA tested for this or whether as he's a gelding the society would be less strict?

May be best to ring them and ask - they are really nice, very helpful when I bought a colt who's passport had never been updated and so I couldn't do the "change of ownership" bit
