Depending on the sort of yard they are on? Would a quiet horse go more fizzy on a busy yard if used to very quiet yard and vice versa? Any experiences?

Yes I believe they do. My horse has become a lot more chilled and nicer to be around on his new yard. Used to bite a grump on old yard. Feel guilty now as he must have been unhappy and trying to tell me something.
He is also much happier in his work now x

Yep my horse couldn't cope with being on a busy competition yard, he got really stressed out by all the 'coming and going', people feeding horses at different times etc. Moved him to a place where there;s just me and one friend and I have a different horse - much calmer and more confident in himself.

I agree with what the others have said, I think most horses are very sensitive to their surroundings...

Totally agree. Some horses really change character with yard changes, it can really unsettle some and they may take a while to settle and chill. And as others have said it can have the reverse affect, turning unhappy stressed horses into happy relaxed horses

yes completly i used to be on a really busy yard and taz hated it he was stressy was awful to lead and was in a chifney to take out to the field, now hes like a dope on a rope a child could lead him such a change :)

Mine used to be stressy in his stable and agressive. one busy full livery I worked on he was at his worse. Then we got our own yard and which he has been on for four years and it's the best and happiest he has ever been. I do believe where they are can make a massive difference. My yard is calm and we have had some horses not settle as its to routine and pieceful.

Definitely, Swift was originally on a quiet yard, he vas calm we moved to a riding school (only place i could find at short notice) and he became so jumpy, and always distracted, when i finally managed to move him to another small yard the change was instant, i had my calm pony back again:)

Got me worrying I have a dope on rope but may have to move to a yard with 25 horses on currently on small yard with 5 to be nearer home..

Mine is happiest on a busy yard as he is nosey and likes to watch what is going on :) when I was on livery at a riding school he loved watching the lessons and listening to the lady shout "troooot"! Was engrossed by it all.

yep we moved from a busy yard to have them at home and they are a lot more chilled. one horse was impossible to catch and now he just walks in his stable as soon as you indicate that's where you want him to go!

mine hates there being a lot of horses coming and going. Will not settle and can be a bolshy brat. At home in peace and quiet in a relaxed atmosphere and he's cool as a cucumber

Yes definately!! I was on a small quiet yard with 4 horses and my horse was a nightmare!! She got really stressed if one of the horses were taken away from the herd and she had to be first out and last in.

I moved her to a bigger yard and overnight I had a different horse!! I even called the vet coz I thought she had caught something!!!

So much calmer as now she just waits patiently for me and doesnt take any notice of what anyone else is doing

My boy was so so quiet when I went to view him, the perfect first horse, he was at a yard with two owners and two other horses, he had a constant routine, when I bought him I moved him to a very big yard, he changed completely into a horse I felt I could not cope with, he became spooky and stressed, after four months I couldn't deal with it anymore, it was sell or move, and because I knew how good he was at his old yard I moved him to a small yard and he went back to the horse he was before

Yes, the other way around to most posters who've replied, I had one that didn't settle at all at home with just one other horse. He was very stressy, even if you were just in with the other horse he would start weaving, banging and would be soaked in sweat after a few mins. Sold him to a girl on a big livery yard and he's been fine. He was an ex-racehorse though and had come from a big yard.
