My tb has developed two round patches both quite tiny on either side of his mouth. They are on his lips and the best way I can descibe them is like human ulcers. They apear to be a little bit sore to touch but his ridden work is still as it always is. I it possible for horses to get ulcers?? I have changed his feed recently but I would have expected to see a more general reaction if it was an allergy . Ideas on a postcard please!!!

Horses can get ulcers, in response to sharp teeth, thorns, sometimes even haynets etc. They aren't where the bit is, are they? Sometimes they can get rubbed at the corners of their mouths especially if delicate Tbs.
You can put a bit of Vaseline/Bonjela on them (assuming your horse doesn't bite like a Great White) to help them heal - but if it is sharp teeth or a recurrent cause they'll come back, obviously

On the positive side, mouths usually heal quickly and cleanly.

No they are underneath his nostrils but not at the front of his mouth they are on the part of his mouth that wrinkles before it starts going into his actual mouth if that makes any sense! They are well away from the bit and he's ridden in a cavesson so I don't think anything is rubbing th only way I can see his teeth causing it is if he is curling his lips i when he is ridden as when he is standing they are not in contact with his lips May try and take some photoes to try and explain myself better!!!

Umm...photos would be good...although I have seen horses having what I THINK you are describing due to haynets?

My mare had one of these wee ulcers just recently. I have no idea what caused it, but it went away in a week or so.
It was a round ulcer about 5-6mm across. It didn't seem to bother her too much and was nowhere near the bit area.
