so... i've often wondered (i'm sad like that) if horses bond better/quicker with vegetarian owners... ?

when they smell our (meat eating) breath, do they see us as a potential predator?

what do you guys reckon?

Well my ponies prefer me to their last owners but as I keep threatening to turn them into sausages I'm not sure its because I'm a veggie...

Has anyone known a horse that preferred synthetic to leather? I guess that would be similar - if they prefer veggie owners they might prefer non-animal-based tack too...

I don't have a horse these days, but I recently became an omnivore again after 3 years as a veggie. I didn't notice any difference in how the school horses reacted, though I tend to eat a couple of polos if I have just eaten a load of meat!

Weeeell, I don't know about horses, but apparently dairy-eating Europeans smell foul to Chinese people.
I don't even remember who told me that

When I was teaching English I used to feel so mortified when I caught whiffs of 'stable' on my boots in class

Totally off-topic and irrelevant. I apologise.

Well I'm a vegetarian and I don't think my horses have appreciated the fact that I don't smell of meat! Knowing my fillies fear of cows she'd probably think it was great if I was carnivorous and was responsible for killing them!
