......calm down in the show ring once they become more experienced?
My 5yr old Section D mare was shown at the RWAS last week (ridden by someone else) and looked VERY strong in trot & canter when they went around in the group. I understand this was an awful lot for her and im going to keep to local level until she's got a bit more under her belt.

Any advice?

I want to do a ridden show on her before the end of the season & i want to have full control as ive never done a ridden class with her.

My mare jumped out of the ring at shows the first few times.

Keep at it and she'll soon get used to it. Just make sure you remain calm otherwise she'll pick up on any nervousness from you.

Good luck

I hope so , my first attempt at a dressage comp this year in march ended up with me on the floor.

Lots of in hand shows since and horse is a lot more settled so I'm getting back on board at a show this weekend. Fingers crossed and all that.

The teeny weeny problem you have is that some of the welsh people like to whizz up their welsh ponies. She may well have been to shows where there has been a lot of shall we say "atmosphere".

Hopefully when she realises it is nothing to get hysterical about she will calm down, I think most of them do, especially if you give her lots of chill-out vibes.
