Do I have a realistic chance of getting sponsored?

I am a BSJA Junior who is moving onto horses in september. I have attented POYS, came 2nd in the towerlands junior 80cm derby, Came 2nd and 3rd in a regional championships. I have won a couple of small classes and I rarely come home unplaced. I also compete a bit of unaffiliated dressage, ODE, and Showjumping when there is no affiliated on.

I would be happy to hand out leaflets at shows, have a link on my website, recomend the company to all my friends and other competitors, have sponsors logo/name on the side of the trailer, my jacket, horses saddlecloth and rug. At shows where my horse is stabled I would have a card next to my horses stable that I am sponsored by...... I would also ask if commentators at shows could give a mention of my sponsor.

Do I have a realistic chance? I am only asking it because me and my parents are finding it a bit hard in the current climate.

I think honestly you would struggle but it is always worth trying. Local businesses might be your best bet if you compete mostly at a local level but i wouldn't expect too much. good luck

Unfortunately there are alot of people in the same boat. You may be lucky to find a local tack shop etc who may give you a saddle pad with their name on but i think you will very lucky to find anyone who will give you financial help. Can you get a part time job or do some babysitting to help fund your competing.

I think you'll be hard pushed tbh, but that doesn't mean it should put you off.

You could ask around if your area for sponsorship - and don't restrict yourself to horsey companies, try making friends locally - in the pub is good, get your parents to do that though if you're not 18! I think results and being a nice person speak volumes though :)

It took me literally years to gain sponsorship and after ALOT of trying I finally have a fantastic sponsor.
My advice, is to just keep at it. Send letters with photos to as many companies as you can and make sure you follow up the letter with a phone call a couple of weeks later.
Just dont give up. Ive worked in Sales all me life and persistence pays off eventually!!

Good luck with it and keep us posted.
