Do I look to big ?

Good luck how did it go?? :D I think you look fine you have a light frame and I'm pretty sure thats not a 17" saddle as your bum is over the edge and proportionate to your body it would have to be Kim Kardashian's bum to do that and it's clearly not:D Have fun and see how you go I'm 5ft 2" on a 14.2 Haffie and we look ok for two chunky blondes :o

I'm 5'9" and have 4 horses: 14.2, 15h, 15h, 15.1. I also have long legs, but no one has ever told me I'm too big for my horses (they are all chunky, baroque types 'tho). The mare looks a nice type of cob, hope she works out for you.

I am 5'4" on a 15 hh Arab and I could quite happily ride something a bit smaller (and have many times). I think it is just how you feel. If you love the horse, forget about other people and enjoy yourself.

I don't think you are too big. But I don't think that is a 17" saddle either. My OH is 6ft2" and rides in a 17" saddle and doesn't sit on the cantle like that. My OH also comfortably rides our 15.3/16hh lightweight, prior to buying her he rode a 15.1hh cob and it didn't affect their performance in dressage or showing.

Bless, she`s really lovely, IMO she is likely to grow somewhat yet and certainly fill out, my 13.3 cob looked much the same when I got him last year, has already grown an inch and filled out considerably and I don`t think that at rising 6 he`s quite finished. Hope you have lots of fun together.

Got use of my iPad so pics direct now !

What do yous think ?

She's a beauty! I love her ears. I'm not usually that keen on blue eyes, but she's so striking - I love her near-side

its all about how you feel on her. My last pony was 12.2, i was probably about 4'11 when i sold him (i was about 14!). Although i didnt feel huge on him everyone else told me i was too big and the more they told me the more i felt i was too big. it broke my heart to sell him, and looking back at photos i didnt look big on him at the time at all! dont be bullied into thinking youre not the right size, if you like the horse and you feel good on her, go for it :)

ETA this is photo of me on him the same year i sold him for you to judge

Congratulations! She looks young and has some filling-out to do yet. Don't worry about your size - yes you will fit her fine. Enjoy,

I think you look fine on her but i hope you sit up a bit straighter lol. She's quite nice pony actually you should have plenty fun with her.

I'm 5ft7 and learnt to ride on a 14hh pony. Didnt feel too tall, possibly looked a little silly, but pony didnt mind and we got on fine.

Your not to heavy for her and not to big on her. The saddle is to small for you , I would leave saddle fitting /checking till you decide what you want to do.

You don't say how tall you are!!. I am 5ft 8 on a 151. TBO I do not give a care to whether I am to big or not, my first mare was 14.3. I got comments (from car drivers)like where are your roller skates. I just told them to get stuffed.

ATEOTD its how you feel that matters not what other people think.:)

Totally unrelated but you can tell she has had a foal or two bless her ;) I think she may need some sun cream on her udders if we ever have a summer :D

I am 5ft 8 approx 9 stone and had a fab little 14.2 gypsy cob a few years ago whom we sadly lost to ragwort poisoning ( damage done before we had her and we had no idea until too late :( ). Yes I may have been a little long on the leg be we got her fit gradually and she was a total gem. I miss her terribly she was a pony in a lifetime. Enjoy your new lass x
