Right, i have had my Masterclip clippers for five years now (paid £109.00 inc P&P off ebay) and they are starting to get to the point where they are getting hot after twenty minutes, despite servicing regularly. So I'm thinking of getting some new ones, looked at the Huntmaster ones and they seem to be quite good, with variable speeds lightweight and quieter than my current ones which is good for my nervous nellies!
Has anyone had any experience with these? Good or bad or recommend me some for the same about price.

These are the ones I'm looking at http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-HUNTM...t=UK_Horse_Wear_Equipment&hash=item27c690a005
Thanks!

I've got huntmaster pros and they lasted one winter! They get hot after 5 mins, the blades don't stay on and nowhere fixes them because they are Chinese imports. Heard much better things about masterclip.

If yoU have read any of my posts, you know I ate Cheap Chinese import clippers, but at the end of the day, these are being sold via a UK supplier, so they are liable for the clippers safety and it's ability to work as advertised. The price reflects the quality and if you adopt the view of "caveat emptor" (buyer beware) you could get a bargain..........but you also could get a lemon. Who knows.

Hmmmm quickly going off the idea, i use my clippers all year round to clip my other cobby's legs so they need to last. hmmmmmmmmm dilemma

This - wasn't impressed with huntmaster - they lasted 1 clip And then fell apart when I cleaned them! Have bought some masterclip this year and so far much better

I have just bought some 'Huntmaster' clippers, I'll be honest, I'd never heard of the brand before and had always used the likes of Liveryman or Lister in the past...

These are not expensive at all and you get 3 sets of blades with them, 1 fine and 2 medium. I clipped my cob (Who was extremely hairy and thick coated for this time of the year) last weekend and I was really impressed with them, they were effortless to use, comfortable to hold and glided through her coat no problems... they didn't leave a single trace mark behind, the finish was perfect, not a single line...

I would give them a good 9/10... the only thing is they are 'Air cooled' and if you end up on the wrong side of where the air is blown out from the body of the clippers, expect a face full of hair ha ha ha

It's the same with anything you buy these days, even the most expensive things can go wrong in a short period of time, but I would guess if your not planning on clipping 5 horses per week with them then they are worth their money, if you clip for a living, then I would buy try one of the other well known brands.

I got them off ebay, delivered in 24hrs, link below

Huntmaster have some dodgy reviews. I use masterclip havent had any problems yet, also at five years old yours would have been an older model and I know they have upgraded and improved much of their stock. Why don;t you give them a ring, they are very friendly and helpfull.

I have a pair of huntmaster clippers. Had them 3 years and they have served my 2 horses very wel.l I clip 2-3 times per year and never had any problems.
I might add Masterclip are imported from china too, infact if you look at their clippers some are the same as Huntmaster.
My friend has a pair of masterclip and actually finds my huntmaster clippers more powerful. And is often borrowing mine to finish her clips.

Also bare in mind your toaster, TV, fridge etc is also imported and made in china. what electrical items aren't nowadays.

I would very much recommend huntmaster clippers. No probs, great clippers, great price!.
