I know he's cheap but he may be ideal for just hacking about if he's geniune and he'd be molly coddled to death

I've looked at ads for horses from this seller before and they all seem quite cheap. Or is it me? That particular horse is something I would definately have been interested in but would be worried about the price and also the fact that he is from a trade seller.

As I said, it might just be me, being a 'rusty rider' and returning to horse ownership. My nans old saying always springs to mind though - buy cheap, pay dear.

Well he's not far away and well, just as a happy hacker (providing he's sound enough for hacking and safe in heavy traffic) thats I'd want him for....as well as being pampered and have a nice home for life, age is not much of a concern even if he's tad older, he's just got such a sweet face too.

Anybody bought from these guys before?

If you like him then go and look at him - what have you got to lose (other than money
grin.gif
)? I'd still get him vetted though - just for peace of mind (or as much as a vetting can give!).

well...don't quote me on this, but I don't think the rep is great.....but you can have a look see for nowt, I bought a couple of cracking horses from a dealer with a really crap reputation, as long as you know what you're looking for.....

Ha ha ha! I was thinking that. My instructor (my OH) would kick me silly for sitting like that (as I used to).

He looks like a nice neddy to me, I think you need to go have a look at least

err I duno now, you've all scared me off the idea

I aint bothered about what they look like like or ride like, its the horse I'm looking at, I'm can usually sus out a unsound horse....my old lad (bought him from out of the free adds for about 600 kniker) mainly cos we felt sorry for him, turned out to be a complete gentleman and was a safe as houses and we had many years of hacking out until I retired him, he was in a state when I bought him but with some TLC/weight time he was a beautiful kind boy, so yes I know to go with 'eyes wide open' and buyers beware etc but the one thing I' not good at is turning round and saying no thank you
blush.gif
as he's ....(what ever I think is wrong etc) then I feel bad.

he has a lovely face. every horse deserves a loving home, no matter how imperfect and you can never really get a good idea from a photo (or 3). If he is near, no harm going and looking

Well I think he looks lovely and as you're not wishing to take him around Badminton does it really matter how he moves, confirmation critique (as long as no soundness issues through poor confo ).

He has a lovely face and i'm sure he deserves a good home. God knows there is enough sadness atm with people putting horses down due to being broke its great to think of someone being able to help one.

It doesn't cost anything to look.

Its your money and if you like the look of him go for it.. I think its better to reget buying something and sell on even at a loss than not buy and have wished you had...

I'd go and have a look - if you like him get him vetted (same as you would with any horse
tongue.gif
) and if you don't like him well looking is free!!

Definitely not a slap if this is the sort of horse you were looking for - I think if you know your stuff well enough then its worth a look. But a cheap horse usually has something going on with it if its not unsoundness then it will be temperment.
Id be betting its an unsoundness issue looking at his face as he looks kind and sort of dopey, and conformation not great.
Hes probably much older than they say as well. Hope your good on teeth, good luck
