Hi,
My mare has a simple cavason bridle with snaffle bit.
White hairs have appeared on her poll where the bridle sits.
Do you think this is the bridle being uncomfortable for her? Does she need an anotomical headpiece?

White hairs are from pressure, if there is no visible skin damage or bruising as such, so I would try and work out if the headpiece is causing it, and why. White hairs almost certainly mean she was, or is, uncomfortable, but it might not be bridle.

I bought a very expensive anatomical bridle for my pony. He seemed to go well in it. Then, for complicated reason I won’t go into, I couldn't use if for an event I had entered. I only realised last minute and had to have a scrabble round in my tack room and put together a bridle from bits and pieces I had lying round. Definitely not anatomical. Result - he goes far better in the cobbled together bridle than the anatomical! I suppose the answer is, it depends.
