I have an IW 510 trailer that is in mint condition. I have had it since new for about 4 years. It has only been used a handful of times (left side never used)!

My question is should I sell it? I am 5 months pregnant and realistically not going to be riding properly for the next year, my boy is 19 and has got Athritis in his pastern. He is sound 80% of the time, but I dont think he will ever be sound enough again to get back to affiliated dressage.

I have the use of friends trailers and lorries, but its not the same as having your own is it. Also if I sell it my mum will then sell the 4x4 that we use to tow, so if I decided to buy another trailer in a few years, I wont have anything to tow it with. Also the LO doesnt allow trailers/lorries to be stored on the yard. I have got away with it my begging as no where else to store it. If I get rid of mine I am worried I wont be able to get a new one stored there.
Arghhhh what to do. It is just going to sit there and not be used for the next 6 months or so doing nothing, whereas I could sell it, put the money in the bank and buy a new one in a couple of years. Running the risk of not being able to store it at the yard!

Sorry for the ramble - well done for reading to the end

I'd keep it if I could. You might need it to take your boy to the vet?

Having the money would be handy but it won't depreciate much in value and it stops the 4x4 being sold!

Definitely sell it - you can save the money for another should you ever need it and if you decide you don't, you have a nice holiday fund!!

i had the same problem couple of months back, i have a IW510 classic, 19 months old used 6 times and collecting dust. my mare has just had a foal and could not see us using it for a year or so at least. BUT its paid for and i know its safe so i decided to keep it.

I had the same problem but I knew someone who was deperate for transport. She borrowed my trailer once and I got it back cleaner than when I lent it so I have loaned it to her until I get another horse.

The way I look at it is you pass good luck on so if I dont get a favour back from her I will get it back from the next good person with a kind heart!
