Prompted by the fact we have finally been allowed to put things like hay bales as fillers in our jumps at competitions, I was telling the kids at my yard what we used to jump our horses over when I was young. So I am looking for photos of weird things that we used to build jumps from...the older members may remember (and hopefully have photos of) things like garden chairs, milk/bread crates, mops balanced on buckets, old sofas etc.

No one believes me over here the things we could get our horses to jump over!

I will put a thread in Photo Gallery, if you have any such pics you don't mind me sharing, I would be very grateful - of course, hilarious old clothing/hats add to the fun :D

Ok, this is from a show, but it's quite impressive. :D

dont have any photos of it, but we use an empty plastic bin- the type you would put a bag of feed in- on it's side with guide rails, and when were feeling brave we take the guide rails off, an when were feeling REALLY brave we stand it up with a pole on top (it's a bit out of my comfort zone- I'm a bit of a wuss!) or 2 bins as the stands.
friends pile tyres up as stands, or stack hay bales because they are brave! but the pony I jump would probably just stop and eat the hay :p

we also drape a high biz exercise sheet over a jump as a scary filler, one of my friends has a mental jumping pony and they have a little blow up paddling pool she jumps as a water tray  but sorry, no pictures!!
