do people not want older ponies on loan anymore?

I've been looking for another 'old faithful' for yonks, but no-one seems to loan / sell them. What do you have OP? Pm me if you prefer as I'm not too far from you.

dont have one im looking for one.

having 3 small children limits my regular garenteed quiet time to ride & aggressive arthritis limiting my ability i just want a quiet, older plod along that isnt gonig to dump my backside (& break me) that can live the spoilt life, getting lots of attention & grooming ect but with the ability to pop the kids or me up onto it for some quiet time.

I kept mine but used it for same. There are some. Keep looking. Well done taking on an older one. My mare retired at 30 having been in lighter work for 3 years. They give so much. Old dear used to go off food and fret after too much time off. Now relaxing into her well earned retirement so I know she was ready. No need to have retired her when she stopped jumping early 20's though.

Just what i want now too - although i'm minus the kids and the arthritis - don't even know where to begin looking!!

was starting to think that noone loaned or sold/gave them anymore, ive loved all our older ones.

miss KT that was put down in feb at the lovley old age of 26, her owner & i still talk about her as if she is still here with us.

will keep looking then & fingers crossed.....................

Have you tried reputable riding & trekking centres, equestrian colleges etc? No decent one is going to stick its oldies up for sale, but they may have an older one needing a quieter life they'd consider loaning to a good local home.

yup, tried local riding schools & even the bigger livery yards, plus cards in all the tack shops ect....
can offer refrences & they are welcome to come see my little spoilt wee sec A, does nothing but get spoilt as cant be ridden/driven so is a pet untill he dies (& that could be some time)

ever got freinds keeping an ear out all over the country.

I know what you mean,I've been looking for one for 7 months now.We already have a 22 year old and two people have already asked if they can loan her once my girls have outgrown her-she could be late twenties by then.

We keep getting offered 4 year olds or younger.

I have tried to find someone to full/part loan our little cob. All I have got is people who dont want any financial commitment and only want to ride her once or twice a week.

No offence but that is what riding schools are for, except they charge :D

I just dont have time for three at the moment and she likes a bit of time and attention spending on her.

As she is able to carry smaller adults and any kids I though I would have plenty of interest.

Cant be bothered anymore. Will probably have her shoes taken off and let her become another field ornament.
