Do people sell horses because they fancy a change (for want of a better phrase)

I love the Peeeeej don't get me wrong and he is going great, no complaints at all BUT the more we do the more I just dont think he's the man for me.

Is this weird (i'm really concerned that i'm terrible and don't deserve such a sweet animal but he just doesn't tickle my pickle)

some people do :) some peoples horses wont go as far as they like others are too push button and they dont need that anymore and others the horse just isnt right for them :) lots of people do it and have done it theres no shame in that some people need a change every once i a while :)
 
I have a thread running in the CR about something similar! I want to take dressage farther, and have an eventer that isnt really up to the challenge, so i would like to sell him (it breaks my heart) so i can invest in a youngster.

All the issues are there atm tho, am not going to get any money back for him!!! The climate at the mo is just terrible, so think carefully about it, before trying to sell him. Hope you find what you are looking for ;)
 
One of my clients only keeps her horses for a couple of years, I think mainly because she just fancies a change! No real reason - and she has sold some real crackers over the years!
 
I have no idea of the value of a Pj or what I could trade him in for (although I have always fancied a haffie or a fjord but know nothing about them)
 
I used to have a PJ - he wasn't right for me so sold him on.

As much as we love our horses sometimes the horse doesn't suit you - or you don't suit the horse. I sold on my PJ as he was too much horse for me - if I had owned him 20 years earlier I would haved kept him. If you boy isn't right anymore I would look to sell him - maybe waiting until the spring as coming into winter is not a good time to sell.
 
I did (or rather my parents did) when I was 11 and decided I wanted to do dressage instead of eventing. I was a precocious child :o:p
 
I might do a tester advert to see if I get any interest.

Im sure someone must be after a perfect hack/ handle/ easy to school properly/ snaffled mouthed/ willing over fences sorta chappy?
