do most people want small ponies?

I am asking because my friend bred a foal a few years ago and he was born with a tendon problem, he is now 15h sound but unfortunately unrideable, very sweet boy, and she would like to find him a companion home, i have been looking at a few ads but all the ones I have seen want ickle ponies (like welsh A's)

small ponies are prefered. we tried to find a companion home for our 15.2hh... we gave up in the end as people didnt want such a big horse plus what with the economic climate a lot of people are just trying to go without a companion...

We have sucessfully found homes for a 16.2 shire/welsh mix (read brick sh*thouse) with DJD as a companion for a larger broodie. He's been there about 5 years now and is reportedly a fantastic dad.

Then about 2 years later another 16.2 ID/TB/Shire with a leg problem as a compaion on a farm with lots of horses.

3rd had to go to a rescue centre on dartmoor, a 15.3 1/2 clydie x and he's not become their mascot! lol

I kept seeing a huge shire mare at the sales one time, she had just been used for foal after foal and her life was drained out of her, unfortunately i didnt have money on me at the time i went last or i would have bought her as a companion, she sold for 350 guineas to a dealer. I asked around the various dealers but no one knew where/who she had gone to

I already have a huge lawn mower (Kenellen the psycho horse) I would have had her though as I knew no one else would have been keen to have such a huge run down horse

Some want the bigger companions if they have a big horse who can be slightly agresseive or bossy in the field a dinnerplated warmblood could kill a shettie/sec a with a missplaced kick, something a bit bigger, esp with native blood somewhere so they're goo doers, do have thier uses
