Do saddlers charge for "check ups"?

I bought a lovely saddle (£700) for my youngster in feb. The saddler recommended that she come and check it again obviously due to him changing shape and workload, which I would have done anyways. I'm going to call her, but just wondering, as I can't remember, do they usually charge for coming out to check a saddle? Or would you expect that to be free as part of buying it in the first place? This is just for the coming out and checking, not including if she needs to take it for re-flocking etc. Thoughts appreciated.

Depends on your saddler I would have thought. I know that mine fitted it for free and came out 6 months later to check the fit and did not charge.

He came out again 6 months after that and I did have to pay, although I would have expected to pay call out for when he came for the first 6month check.

I think mine doesn't charge for first check ups for new saddles but does for second hand ones. New ones the flocking can need altering after it's used for the first time, but with secondhand ones they are less likely to need adjusting unless the horses change shape.
