I think that when it is described as leather, people expect the smooth finish, rather than suede, which isn't! Also leather half chaps/gaiters are usually more expensive than suede, so gives a false impression of the quality you can expect

You are absolutely right to query this! I am the owner of sunhorse saddlery and seller of the chaps. What the advert should say is suede leather. Apologies for any mixup.
