Do these look like they fit?

Sorry for being a numpty but I have never used over reach boots before, and as Bodey pulled a shoe getting a bit over enthusiastic at our last XC I was told they were a good idea (he likes to put in whoppers now and then).
I’m off XC-ing again on Saturday. I bought medium but they didn’t even do up, so these are large.

What do you think? Also should the Velcro straps be at the front?

I apologise for the state of his legs, he needs a good bath and another clip!
Big thanks,
Jo

No needs bigger ones - they should nearly cover hoof. The velcro does up on the outside of the hoof and the straps should overlap round with 'tail'of the strap to the rear, if you see what I mean.

Yeap that makes sense, thank ChicoMio. I was told not to get ones with the lumps in them as apparently they don’t fit cobs well. Back to the horse shop tomorrow then!

I agree hun. Do look about though as I have found some tack shops sell them as large and you would struggle to fit them on a pony!

I got this pic of the internet to show you kind of how they are supposed to sit

Hope this helps hun x

These rubber bell boots are different from the posh neoprene 'no turn' boots that have the straps on the front.

I have no idea if it makes a difference which way round you do them up but I always do them this way as I do all my boot straps with the tails to the rear as the terrain I used to ride in would pull them off if the trailing end was to the front.

If it's any consolation my 15.1hh lad takes a large size to get around his chunky pasterns.

Oh thanks again ChicoMio. Well that makes me feel better, could have cried when I bought the medium ones (the lady in the shop told me they would be fine for a cob, umm, no), as the straps wouldn’t even do up.
Least the rubber bell boots are cheap. Saying that every time I go in the horse shop I come out with loads more then I went in there for, doh!
