I must have tried on 25 pairs in the shop and all were relatively see through some (mark todd) you could read the name written all over the inside pocket material. Now I'm not planning on being stingy, I'm prepared to pay decent money if they don't make me look like a lumpy white pudding. But I couldn't find anything in white. They seem to use a totally different materials. I'm not slim Jim being and12/14 with chunky thighs but I tried everything in the price range from 30 to 180 and sizes upto 16 and came away with some beige size 12 harry hall Chesters to tide me over! Does anyone know of and breeches with some structure, ideally with a high amount of cotton and high waisted. Alternatively a magic pill that makes you have long slim dressage legs akin charlotte d as opposed to the tim stockdale legs!

Pikeur, Eurostar, and Cavallo are the only white breeches I've found that aren't see-through. I also find that going up a size can help as the fabric isn't being stretched so much.

Pikeur do some lovely high-waisted ones and they are often on sale/reduced if you check eBay regularly.

Can't recommend any breeches but I can recommend skin coloured cycling short style pants to go underneath. Makes you feel less self-conscious in case they are a little bit see through and they're very comfy too. I have cream jods for competing but never wear anything other than my cycling shorts underneath just in case.

I bought my daughter some HKM white breeches on ebay and they are fantastic! Soft, thick, comfortable material and totally opaque! I love their boots as well, I am a total HKM fan.

I have some Equi-theme cotton ones. They are great and have elastic bottoms (none of the horrible Velcro). I think they were about £30 on ebay. (from the UK)

Montar are lovely. They were on sale online at hope valley - not sure if they have any left but worth a look.

Best thing I ever bought was a pair of HKM white jods with black seat, deffo slim down my chunky legs and when the photographer takes a pic of me going over a fence from a bad angle it no longer looks like the moon is appearing over the saddle...

They are quite thick-ish sturdy material and don't find them seethrough!

They are snug, go up a size!

Sure Ive read somewhere to wear some black opaque tights underneath and that stops the see through effect, not sure about that in this heat though! I have some Just Togs white comp breeches and they arent see through and are nice.

My daughter likes Caldene. they robust and non see through - but quite heavy weight. I've just ordered a selwood pair in the hopes of combined lightweight and not too see through. I love the idea of a black seat pair though!

Just bought myself some of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/252457744...49&var=551324682919&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT now they are see through as in you can see the pockets at the front but as they have a grey seat you can't see much of a VPL in them, very comfy as well, I also took the hint of going up a size so they aren't so stretched. My previous were Tagg as well and not see through at all but they have stopped making the particular style so I went for these instead.

Expensive - Pikeur, middle range (around the £60) Rugged. Avoid Oli Townend breeches. I bought in a sale and a size up but they are very see through..

I have got a pair of Ariats that aren't see through but they are quite old so not sure if that will still be the case. My HV Polo ones aren't see through either...
