Do tredstep chaps drop?

Just went ahead and brought a pair.. they look lovely, but I'm not sure if they're a touch too high?

Someone please tell me they drop slightly once worn a few times? My last pair of chaps were 17.5" high ariats and they did drop an awful lot... these are a 18" as I didn't want the same happening!

Please tell me I don't need to send them back

Yes, I think they do a little over time - especially if they're good and snug. I just repaired mine for the 3rd or 4th time (new elastic, new press stud, plus restitching the seams). I've had them 15 years and Love them too much to let go.
