To horses you viewed but didn't buy?
I often wonder (pointlessly, I suppose) what happened to a nice mare I viewed last summer. On paper she was exactly what I was looking for, and when I got there I thought she was lovely. Unfortunately, she had somewhat flat feet and weak heels, and the main box my new horse had to tick was that it had to have very good feet, after the foot problems my last two horses have had. So I didn't even sit on her.
I don't regret it as such, the horse I did buy is absolutely super, but if I hadn't had major feet problems with my other horses which have made me a bit paranoid, I expect I would have bought the other horse I viewed first.
I wonder how we'd be doing if I had bought her. I also wonder if someone else bought her and if she's doing well or is a disaster. Or if the woman who owned her managed to sell her at all. I hope she's not doing the rounds between dealers.
Stupid ponderings really, because there is no way of knowing, and if I could find out about her and the odd other near-purchase of the past, I wouldn't be trying to buy them or anything. I'm just curious about the ones I could have imagined being my horse, but had to walk away.
Does anyone else do this? Do you have a "one that got away"?
