....walk / crawl / slide under your horses tummy to get to the other side instead of going around the back ie. when picking their feet out etc?

I do it all the time (eek)

Just intrigued......

Yes :o i also pick out her feet while crouching, so i put her leg on my lap so foot is sticking off my lap and pick it out this way because i'm way too lazy to bend down and my excuse is that i'm 5ft11 so it hurts my back when i stand there holding the foot :p

Used to with my old boy, silly long legs and never kicked.

Haven't tried it with ym new boy yet, mainly as I would struggle to get passed his belly and secondly because he is known to be tetchy with his back legs ;)

Yes :) he's massive so plenty of room under there for me.

I sit under him to brush his belly and on the floor next to him to brush his legs.

New horse 2 hands smaller to not enough room to scoot underneath.

Yep, and my horse doesnt bat an eyelid :D:D

My pony is too short though, its much easier to just walk round with her!

With my old mare, i used to lean against her back legs while sitting under her and read my book while waiting for my dad to pick me up (it was so i didnt get covered in hay)...
obviously lived to tell the tale though as my mare had a heart of gold and i was too young to notice the danger of such things, but i wouldnt try it on my orange TB, ducking under him is one thing, staying under is another rofl

Used to, but at 5'10 with a 14.2 its quicker to walk round. Do worse instead like sitting down to trim/brush legs, or sitting behind her during clipping. And lots more too.

Yes and no, not with my welshie, at 14.2 and her being a bit tricky don't think I should. However our 17.1 very very good and sweet Belgian draft I do all the time. People at the yard do pull faces but because he's so big it's sometimes easier to go under then round

I used to with Blobby, you could do anything with that horse though.
Not tried it with Ned, but he's such a fidget. I'm sure I could, but I'd rather not risk it!
