I feel very comfy in it! As everyone looks the same, there is no fashion in it all. I feel happy with it all, but just to add yes i do like it mostly because it's comfy.

Yes because I wear combats and nice sturdy boots. I like to have lots of pockets when i'm hacking. I don't mind the way i look in jodhpurs either though

OH much prefers it to baggy yard wear

I hate jodphurs, but will wear them in the summer witth chaps, but I'm afraid I ride in tracksuit bottoms in the winter as they're much warmer

I don't care what I look like to be honest, my the time I've been at the yard 5mins I'm usually covered in mud, hay and straw, and as I've got older I've got more confident in myself and if people don't like it or think I'm fat - tough!! I always try and look tidy when I'm having a lesson though.

I really don't mind how I look but when I have had a lesson in London and I'm getting the tube home I am very concerned with how i SMELL!

Just been to Tesco's in mine so i guess so, lol

Who cares what anyone else thinks.
I'm sure the scent of "Eau de oss piss", offends some people though

Love my riding gear...too comfy by half! I wear stuff for practical purposes anyway and don't give a hoot about fashion or what others wear. Could live in my warm jods, my long leather boots are brill and keep my feet toasty in winter, my high viz builders jacket does exactly what it says on the tin and keeps me warm, my back protector is the best wind break invented and my new troxel hat is light weight and can be seen well over the hedges! Marvellous!

Ummm, I wonder if I could semi-hijack this thread to ask some advice? I'm starting riding again after a 5 year break. I've been totally out of the scene for this time, not just not riding, and I'm a tad nervous about starting again at a pretty smart stable. I intend to use all my old stuff, apart from a hat, of course. Will I be laughed out of the yard? I've got a J3 hat, my old cord jods (green or brown or lilac - don't ask!), brown jod boots, brown leather half chaps, old pullover/fleece/waterproof.

To keep it on topic, I love all my horse gear and I've always felt good when wearing it. Getting my boots out the other day to polish them gave me a bit of a lump in my throat

I think you'll be totally fine!

That's great you are starting again, I had about a 2 year break when my old horse was put down and some things had changed so much. Coming on here helped me get up to date again.

I just used all of my old stuff and got new things bit by bit as I discovered I needed them.

Yeah you will be fine

I wear boots and jods that are at least 5 years old!

I love my riding clothes, feel slightly self-concious in my competition gear but not my regular jods etc.

Only a 5yr Gap? I came back into riding after a gap reaching back to the mid 60's! On the up side, I'm old enough to say..sod what it looks like as long as it keeps me safe, warm and comfortable....but then I do ride a Mule!

I think i feel more comfortable in my riding clothes than any other! Bit like a uniform i think they say something about me, and i am confident with horses and therefore often feel more confident in my riding clothes than any other outfit!! Does that sound strange???

I don't care about changing and stamping out of work, round tescos, shopping etc in stable stuff, but last time I took Flash out jumping I got the giggles so badly and nearly fell off because I realised my legs look like uncooked sausages in jods
grin.gif

i basically live in mine!

i go shopping in it, walk the dogs in it, visit family and friends in it (BEFORE i go down the yard, that it), even been to the cinema in it before

i love my jods, and my ridng jumpers, and my long riding coat/mac is great when taking the dogs out for a walk and you dont want to get wet!

I feel a bit uncomfortable and self-conscious in jodhs for the opposite reason - I look way too skinny!

Well, tbh this is because I am way too skinny (5ft 5 and weigh 6 stone - yuk). But I look even scrawnier in jodhs than in normal jeans, etc.

I'm just about to get back to riding (as soon as my horse is backed) after a 13-year gap - I'm hoping my horrible stick-insect legs will be less noticeable when I'm actually on a horse...
