My yard is hidden behind a country club and the drive looks like part of it. Last night i was locking the big gates and i had a load of tack and other stuff in the car. I set of for home, about five mins later a car behind starts flashing it headlights at me, i didn't stop straight way beacuse i didn't see anything wrong. The driver was still flashing so i stopped, thinking something was wrong with the car, i got out and greeted the driver who turned out to be a police officer. He had seen me locking up and all the stuff in the car and thought it suspicious, i explained what i was doing but he wanted a look at stuff in my car, he thought i'd robbed the country club!! He had a look and then told me if i'd hadn't stopped when i did, he would have called for marked police cars to catch me.( he thought i was doing a runner) then sent me on my way.

Very good! However, if this ever happens to you or anyone else NEVER GET OUT OF THE CAR. You put yourself at considerable risk. Your car and its contents could have been stolen, and you left lying in the road. If the police were that anxious to stop you, they should have called for a marked car to intercept you.

thats why i didn't get out straight away, but i looked closely and could see his uniform.

I used to keep my horses in a field right next to a main road. One winters evening I was up there after work about 8pm (pitch black) and had gone right to the other side of the field to check the trough. I was walking back to the stable block when I saw someone with a torch wandering around. I totally freaked out and hid behind a tree, while the person with the torch started shining it into bushes etc. While he was facing the other way, I made a dash for the stables. I think he must have heard me because he came back and started investigating the stable block again. We ended up doing a comical cat and mouse thing with me trying to stay on the other side of the building from him!
Eventually, I went round a corner too quick and was caught in the full glare of the torch beam. I nearly died of fright! It turned out that he was a policeman who'd seen my car and was worried that something had happened to me, as it was rather late/dark to be doing the horses. The whole episode lasted a good 20 minutes and he was about to call in the helicopter to search the area! Looking back, I feel rather stupid as burglars don't generally wander about for ages with a torch, but in my defence the place had been cleared out by thieves 2 weeks before and I was a little jumpy!

bt had to come in my field with a cable and ladder. as they walked accross the field dragging the cable my 2 year old forest filly kept jumping on the end of the cable when the fella had to go up the ladder she got hold of the ladder and tried to pull it away from the post, he was up the ladder arms wrapped round the post to stop himself falling. the bt guys told me that they thought it was quiet funny. imagine that on insurance form.
