Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service needs old, unwanted trailers to help them recreate real-life accidents. Hampshire’s specialist animal rescue team is training fire fighters from across the UK to help save horses from road and trailer accidents. If you may be able to help please call Jim Green, head of the rural safety team (tel: 0870 850 8041).

She escaped into a neighbouring garden to the field she was kept in. It was dark - about quarter past six in February, pool had a cover on, she was running round and went straight in the pool. She was very lucky. I got there and she was drowning - winter rug was weighing her down. Was very deep she is 17.2hh and couldnt touch the bottom. Jumped in and got her rug off her and headcollar on. Got out and dragged with all my strength to encourage her to the shallow end. Owner of house/garden called fire brigade who came, part of fire brigade is hampshire animal rescue unit they came up from eastleigh and were fantastic. Fire brigade pumped water out till her body was clear and had a manitou fork lift her out. Very frightening. She was in the water for three hours and the animal rescue unit were brilliant.
