Our liveries are not like this at all, never have been, we found a new home for one of their horses and when the people came to look at him they were really affectionate with him which i thought was quite sweet as he had probably never had anyone give him a kiss before!

I kiss my old boy every morning when I turn him out and at night when he goes to bed. Whisk gets kisses all the time too 'cos he is a very affectionate horse, when he isn't standing on your feet, nipping your sleeves or shoving you around with his head!!

Always been put off kissing horses after a terrible accident in a yard nearby, where new horse was being kissed by new owner and took the front of her face off, nose, lips, chin. Involved being taken to East Grinsted for major reconstructive surgery etc.

I am,

Ohh yes - of course. Although I wouldnt like to try to kiss Echo in the mornings he is safer to kiss later in the day!! Bruno is keenest on kisses when I have polos somewhere on my person!!

Yes I do (again another sign of madness!)

in fact I kiss my horse more than I do my OH and he'll certainly agree with that, although I don't think Mackenzieapprecitates quite as much as the OH would lol.

I kiss him on his nose, so long as its not wet, Mackenzie has been know to sport a bright red lippy prints on his nose too, so everyone knows when his mummy has given him a snog!

He likes to sniff your lips (gosh that sounds terrible doesn't it lol

) I think its the smell of my lip gloss though...or maybe my chewing gum etc he has a nuzzle and that's it, he's not really a a horse you can cuddle, he's a proper bloke but he does get very jealous, if I'm holding him/leading him/riding him and another horse comes near, he attacks them which is not a laughing matter, its dangerous and its something I'm trying to sort out, he doesn't do with any else though, so its a bit of pain as nobody wants to hack out with me when I'm riding lordship!...not good when your riding a 4 yr out by your self I can tell you.

I tend to keep physical displays of affection to ones understood by the pony: grooming, wither and crest scratches, itchy spot rubs, and maybe gently blowing in his nose...though I have been known to give the odd hug...

I do with Prince and Phoenix, Prince is the more affectionate one who loves kisses and cuddles and Phoenix puts up with them.

Shiloh wont let you kiss her but then she is still a little headshy and i dont think she is used to attention like that :-(

yes, every day! and lots of cuddles (but only on days when she's been good lol)! my friends horse is trained to kiss on demand, its soooooo cute!! kisses to everyones horses today! xxx

i've also seen 2 serious accidents from this... maybe stupidly it hasn't put me off, or maybe it's because both women were kissing their horses which they knew full well often bite. I shared one of them, and would have never put my face near his. But horses i know exceptionally well and trust get lots of kisses

I'm more a fan of a good itchy spot scratching though, watching that top lip wobbling

The boys love cuddles and kisses . Annie would rather be left alone

Yes, mine love a kiss on the nose, a big hug on the neck and lots of scratches.

Chancer turns and waits for his night time hug and sticks his nose out for a kiss when I arrive. Farra does the same - mine are so gentle they will take a carrot out of your mouth.

Only time I don't kiss them is when they are covered in slobbery speedibeet or sticky mud - I have my limit.
