At a show today the Dengie rep had an electronic weigh board with her. We got 2 of our ponies done, I had always assumed mine was about 450 kilo, she was actually 396. Thought it was a good idea though the ponies weren't so sure lol

Yes, he has been on a weigh bridge a few times now. ^^ yes it does matter for wormer and other drug dosing, under or over dosing causes problems.

I had my weighed when top spec came to our yard - he was absolutely spot on, but I knew that already :D

Yes, we have a nutritionist out from Allen+Page every two to three months. He's 800kg on weigh bridge. He's a shire x cob.

We have a Dengie rep coming out next week to weigh horses at our yard.
I'm really looking forward to it. Just to actually know what ***kg looks like.
Obviously, I can tell if he's too fat or thin, but to know what that equates to in actual weight will be really interesting.
Also. I have always used my YO's weight tape to keep track of gains and losses, but got a freebie one with a mag not so long ago. On Friday, I taped horse with both. He was 465 on YO's and 512 on the freebie one, wildly different, so it will also be handy to see which one is the most accurate.

I weigh tape them before every worming, I have two youngsters so need to check as the fact they look the same as they did at the last worming doesn't mean they weigh the same as they're also getting taller.

I have a Spillers weigh tape that came free with Horse magazine a couple of issues ago. As I have Spillers out to weigh my horse on their weighbridge, I thought it would be interesting to see how accurate their weigh tape was - it was spot on! My other weigh tape is approx 100kgs out!!

I do now. Never bothered before as go on condition as he is a poor doer most of the time but Spillers came with thier weigh bridge and 16.3 TB ex racer weighs 574kg which is more than i though, would have guessed at about 540kg Weight tape which we did as well for interest in at 555kg.

I weight type mine, i now there is a rough 40ish kgs swing either way as my saddle fitters weight tape is 20kgs heaver than mine but have agreed with vet when they are the right weight looking at them i'll weight tape then that will be their target weight.

Currently my 15.2 appy lami is 420kgs on the tape and he looks fab, can see and feel ribs

16hh wb is 480kgs and can feel and she a shimmer of ribs

14.3 welsh is 408kgs and feel and see a shimmer of ribs.

They are all at their lowest weight going into winter and am proud of ourselves, sister included, that for the first spring in 12 years of having gee gees am not worried about their weight.
