Do you match your boots etc with tack colour?

Does anyone else feel like if they have black or brown tack, they should have the same colour over reach boots, brushing boots etc if you use them? Same with riding boots?

I was about to buy some more over reach boots and was going to buy some brown ones that match the rest of my tack when I thought about it.

Does anyone else do this?

Yes. And I match everything to one colour. His harness is black, pads are red and black, ears are red, boots are black as I cant find red to fit his tree trunk legs! My hat is red and I tend to wear my red top and jumper, unless its in the wash. I keep meaning to buy another couple. Ignore his expression and half done legs without boots on, I cant find a more recent one. Thats not me driving, but that is my matching hat on the backstep

When I get round to it, I'm going to paint the carriage wheels with some very glossy red paint as well :)

I can't even find matching socks, I wouldn't have the brain capacity to get to matching tack level!

Kind of. I don't worry if thing's don't match, but I don't actively buy things to clash with existing items.

My saddle and bridle are brown but my boots/chaps, hat & gloves are black.

My preferred colour for my horse is navy or royal blue - so saddle cloths are all on this theme as are things like his leadrope, saddle cover, stable plaque. Most of my breeches or riding tights are navy and jumpers, jackets etc are mainly black, navy or shades of blue. But I am also a believer in if things are comfortable & warm then it gets worn!

But things like over reach boots for turn out or high viz items are generally whatever colour is cheapest :D

Well no not intentionally. My saddle and bridle are black, simply because it was a saddle that fitted and was on budget.
Most boots are black and I'd not buy coloured ones so my stuff generally does match yes!!!

No I don't, it would end up costing me a fortune if I had to buy boots to match each coloured saddle cloth. I just have one set of boots which are black so match everything.

Yep! He has black tack, which wouldn't usually be my preference, but he chose the saddle! I then had to buy a black bridle.
He has black boots for hacking, and white boots for poncing (with a white saddle cloth) and the appropriate coloured bandages for his collection of pads. Don't really use the bandages, but he has them just in case!

My tack is black - more to do with saddle availability, but wear brown jod boots and half chaps to ride but am breaking in a pair of black ariat long to compete. So we don't match but I do tend to use a white saddle pad with white boots for her and just treated us (in the sale) to a lovely jade green saddle pad with matching green boots. I'm can't afford to do that for all her attire!

I don't match my boots to my tack but will buy boots to match my saddlecloths, I have navy/grey/black so they go with almost everything I own :D. I don't choose to go full on matchy matchy but as I have accumulated enough stuff over the years, horse will wear navy/navy accented stuff if I'm wearing navy, black stuff, if I'm wearing black etc. Just a personal preference as I cannot stand looking scruffy :D.

Thank you :) It really irritates me that the reins are brown but unfortunatley thats a driving thing so I have to suck it up.

I love everything corordinating. It doesnt cost me any more than clashing or mismatched things and I enjoy looking for exactly what I want and then seeing him looking really smart :)

Tack and my boots all brown (with one exception which does drive me insane but as he's only a baby and he'll get a brown saddle when he's stopped growing)

Horses wear matchy (including browbands) and are also matchificated to each other (will wear different tones of same colour, eg peacock on one and turquoise on the other or blueberry and cornflower or raspberry and plum etc)

Yes I have a problem. No I don't care :tongue3:

I always match stuff up.

Black leather bridle has to be worn with black leather saddle, I couldn't do any brown leather with black leather - I need a paper bag to breathe into just thinking about it.

Same with what I wear. Black leather boots with my black tack. Saddlecloth has to be clean and look good on the colour of horse. No rips or fading allowed.

Lorry has to have everything in a matching colourway, from the seating to a mug. Even the broom.

Storage in the tack room has to match. And saddle racks up on the wall in correct colourway too.

Never thought of it before, I just thought I was making it all nice - am maybe just a teeny bit ocd.....?

Yeah I prefer black tack, black boots, black showing jacket (if competing). Although brushing boots, over reach boots, numnah etc are all blue, unless it's dressage and then the numnah is white. I don't match my top though when schooling.

If competing I match to my jacket.

If not, I wear whatever is nearest and same for the horse normally. Occasionally I try to match up, but I get the pickle taken and go back into the non-matchy closet :D I do have matchy for clinics etc. seems to be more acceptable then!

But thinking about it, I only own one black bridle and its rarely used as it's for when I think I will need brakes (I call it The Somerford Bridle, even the OH knows to ask if that's what I want packing on a trip out :D)
