Does whether or not you do poo pick depend on the size of the field and nature of the turnout, ie. if its a very big or very small field, if there are other horses turned out there, if there are cows/goats/sheep etc.

Just curious!

yep- every day!
the field is quiet small, and there is three horses in it, so i dont like it building up. plus its so much easier to do a quick wizz round and clear it once a day, rather than struggling with multiple wheelbarrows at the weekend.

i guess im lucky-in the two larger sections i normally do once a week with quadbike and trailer-sometimes in summer twice a week..or every 4/5 days

at the moment i only have one horse who is only out for half a day/.....so a lot less work!!

The small front paddock, yes. I look into it from the house, and it is the first thing anyone driving past sees, so I do keep it clear, hate to see a lumpy field! The others get harrowed.

This past week the poos have turned into concrete and have been covered by snow so I don't bother trying to prise anything up.

In the summer I always poo pick the small fields because they are used as starvation paddocks. However, in the winter I don't bother as they get harrowed and rested for a few months before they are next used.

I never bother poo picking the large fields, because I only have one horse on them and so he moves around a lot!

Although I'm on part livery I still poo pick. Got a deal with the YO so instead of paying for individual t/o in a fair size paddock, I do the poo picking and ragwort pulling and generally care for the paddock. I only do it once a week tho, at the weekend.

Mine are on eight acres so I can't poo pick, it would be silly! I hate not doing it though.
My share horse is on a smaller field and they get done twice per day (out 24/7).

We do poo pick every day.
it saves us on wormers- we only have to worm 4 times a year now and the grazing is kept in tip top condition all year round

I appreciate not everyone does but a little a day is much easier than a huge amount at weekends!

do with fizz when she is in her little summer paddock, big ones no as its a 20 acre field & it would just be me & alita doing it cos no one else would

I normally do 4/5 days a week in summer and once a week in winter at the weekends.

After about January I do stop on the winter field as normally by them it is a mud pit with hardly any grazing and I am putting hay out but until it is too wet and muddy I keep with the picking.

Then start up again in late April/May when they go back onto summer paddock and winter paddock is rolled for next October.

Most of my pasture fields are 10 acres each so these are harrowed. All of my fields have dust corrals incorporated into them and no they don't get poo picked; no point.

Every day and now in the dark with a light on the wheelbarrow or with someone holding a torch - y/o insists it is done every day and TBH i have always done it. Just need someone to invent flourscent horse fee

d.....

I've ticked always have, cos as long as I'm living here with 3 horses on under 2 acres I will have to poo pick! If ever I win the lottery and am able to buy loads more land might just rotate with sheep grazing or something, but don't suppose that will ever happen.

My girl is in a 1.5 acre field on her own (big 8 acre square sectioned into 4 so she has friends!!) so I poo pick once a day in the winter, there's no light after work and twice a day in the summer. I don't like the idea of poo attracting the flys into her field

I hate to see the field full of poo

Poo pick the summer paddocks occasionally but don't do any in the winter.

Rotate my fields. Have 2 winter fields, 3 summer paddocks and 3 all year round paddocks.

my ponies are in small padocks and there is a time every day when there is no poo in the field.
it takes 15mins at the most.
