seen a saddle on ebay.... seller has only 1 feedback, from something they have bought april 06 and the item number is now removed so i cant even look to see if it was a horsey product or anything.

just makes me think it could be a knicked saddle???

i suppose everybody has to start somewhere with ebay though?

try emailing the seller with questions about the saddle eg.what make is the saddle, what size seat, what width, what height was the previous horse it was used on and even why it is for sale? If you like put at then end of your email so you dont sound suspisous "sorry for all the questions, i just want to check it will be suitable" or soemthing like that
if it has been nicked the seller isnt likely to be horsey and wont know the answers

Depending on how much the saddle is going for i wouldnt be too worried, though i can see why you wold be a little anxious

The item number is always remived after a certain amount of time

.

You run the risk of buying stolen goods what ever you buy on ebay, and I would be more concerned over a seller having only just joined and sold loads, as these people run different accounts in different names so they are untraceable.

Having paypal registration, a lomger than 6 month membership and being happy to answer questions are good signs. Also someone who seems to know a lot obaout the item they are selling.....

hmmm well i asked the measurement from D to D and just got a reply back "24 cms" and that was it. it was really abrupt and IMO a tad rude really! maybe i will ask somemore questions and see whats said.

all im worried about is only 1 feedback - i pay £350 then never get the saddle. dont get me wrong im not new to ebay i use it more than regularly lol but im just a bit wary with such a large amount...

last time i bought a saddle on ebay it was not as described so they finally agreed to take it back, then they didnt give me my money back!!! ebay offered to compensate me £25 for a saddle that cost £60 (only a cheapy i know but not the point!) luckily i wrote a rathing ranting letter to the bloke threatening court and i got some money back. however this saddle is a specific make and photos are of actual saddle not catalogue photos so shouldnt have that problem again

I think I would give it a miss. Can you afford to lose that much money if this is a dodgy sale? I know you have to start somewhere on ebay but even so....plus they were a bit off-hand, which may mean they are not going to be good to deal with.

There will be other saddles....just bide your time and a better one will come along!

If he accepts paypal you will be ok, if not I would definitely not buy the saddle, espec as he was so abrupt with you.

Like moodimare says, it may mean he wont be good to deal with!

he does accept paypal! but so did the guy who messed me about before.

ive emailed asking more questions, will see what i get back. if my mind isnt put to rest perhaps i shall just leave it.

its just a little frustrating as its the saddle i really want a 16.5 ideal in brown in lovely condition by the looks of it never mind! theres a lovely bates caprilli on there too and im considering that it looks lovely

Sometimes people just dont know how to converse via messaging. It does seem abrubt but if the person is new to selling maybe they are not sure if you should enter into freindly banter (I am very guilty of that when I send massages!).
It might be worth checking their id history which you can do by clicking on the sellers name and then on the list of options on right hand side, click on the id history button to see if they have ever registered as another user.
If its the one i am thinking it is it looks fairly genuine, but he is asking a big price for it.Just looks like he hasn't done much on e-bay!
I would say ask more questions!
