Do you remember the pages of H&H in the days when there was a super thick edition and hundreds of stallions advertised at stud? I remember buying it specially for this reason - not because I had a mare to be covered - I didn't even have a horse back then - I remember being amazed by the wide variety on offer but was, even then, drawn especially to the beautiful spotted ones and the spottier the better! I know they are not everyone's cup of tea. But I just remember ............ (sad what you think about when you are reaching 50!!) ;)

Yes, I do - very well! I used to buy it for that reason too - I used to do a lot of showing, mainly ponies, and loved seeing all the stallions which were in the bloodlines of the ponies I showed. I remember that those show numbers used to be huge, heavy things - they are so much thinner today!

No, but when I was a teenager I did a day's work experience at the British Bloodstock Agency and they gave me a couple of huge, leatherbound stallion books, complete with big glossy photos, pedigrees, race and foal records :p Best thing ever.

I have a soft spot for spottie stallions aswell :o

I saw the beautiful Spottie Dot Com compete once when I was little and admired him, I said to my mum I want a horse just like him.
Years later I find out that it is more then likely Koko is descended from the same lines as him so I had my very own Spottie Dot Com :D
