Do you school in the rain?

I loathe schooling in the rain! Mostly because I find wearing a waterproof coat really restricting. So if it's pouring I usually wrap self and horse up in waterproof fluorescent gear and go for a hilly road hack where there is good cover from hedges and trees etc. Mind you, I'm just about to get (I hope!) a new youngster who will need to be schooled more regularly than my other horse, so I'm hoping that the current spell of wet weather will soon stop!

I do. I tend to ride in most weather unless it was physically impossible or unsafe for ben.i.e ice as the hill where you ride of our farm is horrendous when its icy. But I school in the rain doesnt bother me so much I have spare coat and jods in tackroom.

Judy Bradwell talks about this topic in her article in the latest copy of Eventing - is well worth a read

I will ride/school in every weather bar strong winds as I absoutely hate it.

Well I don't ride atm, but I work in all weathers and look after my own in all weathers. The only time I wouldn't ride in adverse conditions, would be hacking, as for me that is for pleasure. If I was competing though, I'd like to think that my horse was happy to work in any weather, so yeah, I'd school in a flood/gales etc....
