I am a little curious - I have just borrowed a set of clippers from a friend and the electrical sticker on the side advisis that it had it last test in 08 and due in 09 - she has used them for the past 2 years and clipped her horse with them this year ( has sharpened blades ect ).

Getting to the point are they safe to use?

yes, my boss did not get hers done before I started on the yard and she clipped one of the horses (on the yard:rolleyes:) and it got a shock of the mains when she was doing her ears she went through the post and rail fence onto the road and 2 miles later through a barbed wire fence iton a field of gypsy ponies, they were so lucky she did not get hit by a car as it was a dark winter night in the rain, she only had superficial wounds and needed stitching up

since then i would always get them checked yearly

I do mine every other year as only have 2 horses 2 clip. I also replace my blades at the same time, and have them sharpened in the year the clippers are not being serviced.
