Do you slow down for people on foot?

I don't ride anymore or have a horse, but I don't walk my dog on bridleways (unless I absolutely have to).....knowing cantering opportunities can be scarce, I'm always aware I could spoil someone's ride :)
But I am always thankful if a rider slows down for me and it gives me a chance to admire the horse!
You're right about the miserable walkers 'starryeyed' - I say hello to everyone - lots of people just look through me - but I still do it!

There's a track where we used to walk the dog - it was more than wide enough to canter/gallop past someone and not be a worry. I've never ridden down there though!

However, if the track is any narrower than that, I will slow to at the very least a trot. Me, Mum and the dog were nearly run down by a rider who came flying around a blind corner a few years back! She tutted like WE were the problem! :O

Yes always, a lot of people are scared of a dog running at them let alone a horse! I can't abide poor etiquette when it comes to animals, makes us all look bad!

If a long canter track I might canter up to a good distance away from them, but that would depend how reliable the horse was on stopping!

We only have a couple of short rubbish tracks here so I tend to walk past people, wait for them to be out of our path then canter the other direction, then maybe back again! I'll get that precious canter in damnit!

I always slow down for walkers or passing other riders. My hacking is a country park and many walkers and cyclists use the horse trails. To me its good manners and also we often meet walkers and families who ask if they can pet the boyo or have a photo with him - I'm more than happy to oblige - afterall its good horsey PR as we are in a city and a lot of kids have never seen a horse up close before :)

I couldn't go past anybody faster than walk even if I wanted to. Horse has inbuilt brakes for people and dogs and always knows if there's something round the next corner. This occasionally ends with me sitting on her neck when she does the sudden prop-stop.
